An integrated health delivery system founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente organizes and provides or coordinates members' care, hospital, medical, and pharmacy services for 8.1 million members in 9 states and the District of Columbia. In Southern California, KPSC serves over 3 million members with over 3,000 physicians working in 12 regional medical centers. Each of these medical centers includes an emergency department, a hospital with inpatient services, one of more affiliated medical offices or outpatient primary care facilities, and other support services, such as pharmacy and laboratory.
