The New York Office of Mental Health (OMH)
The New York Office of Mental Health (OMH) operates psychiatric centers across the state, and also regulates, certifies and oversees more than 2,500 programs which are operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies. These programs include various inpatient and outpatient programs, emergency, community support, residential and family care programs. The New York OMH is a part of the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc., a non-profit corporation that assists and enhances research and training objectives of the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene. Through an agreement with New York State, the Foundation has been designated as the organization responsible for administering and directing the conduct of all sponsored research programs carried out by scientists at Department research institutes or facilities.
