Ruth Klap, Ph.D.
Dr. Klap is a Sociologist and Assistant Researcher who specializes in research methods, ethnic disparities, domestic violence, trauma, and mental health and substance abuse. Dr. Klap received her Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA in 1997. Dr. Klap is currently Co-PI of Caring For Our Youth, an assessment of mental health need within the Los Angeles County Juvenile Justice System. She is also the Project Director for Healthcare for Communities. Additionally, Dr. Klap coordinates and supervises the data facility for the Center, mentors research fellows, and consults on statistical and methodological issues.
