Key aims: To evaluate the effectiveness of a quality improvement intervention for improving access to evidence based treatments for adolescent depression through primary care.
Methods: Youth endorsing depressive symptoms were randomly assigned to usual care vs. the intervention condition. Outcomes were monitored at 6, 12, and 18-month follow-ups.
Significance: The study will provide information on depression among adolescent primary care populations and the effectiveness of the quality improvement intervention.
Impact: Results will inform efforts to improve care for mental health problems in adolescents.
Current status: Data still being collected.
